During the growing season we offer classes for those who want to learn more about gardening.  We don't claim to be experts, but we do believe in sharing what we've learned through trial and error about gardening in SE Oklahoma.  Occasionally, we will invite a guest speaker to share their knowledge.  Classes are free.

Calendar of Events for 2012

Beginning Saturday February 11, our gardens will be open for anyone who wants to learn about gardening.  These will be come and go clinics and you are welcome to stop by anytime between 11 AM and 4 PM to see what's going on.  These informal clinics wil be held on Saturdays only.  Here is the schedule through early March:

February 11: Soil and bed prep for Spring planting.

February 18: Plant potatoes and seeds for early spring vebetables.

February 25: Plant early Spring vegetable plans, leeks and onions.

March 3: Plant remaining Spring vegetables, weed and mulch previous plantings.

Other Events

March 31:  Tomato Plants released for sale.  We will have 61 varieties available this year!

Mid April to early May:  Eggplant and Pepper plants released for sale.

We are old-fashioned gardeners and believe in planting when the conditions are right for the best outcome.  Warm season crops don't do well in cold soil, not to mention the fact that frost is still a possibility through mid-April in Southeast Oklahoma.  We also don't believe it's ethical to sell plants out of season so we can sell more when the first ones are killed by frost.
