The Community Garden

The Community Garden has been our dream for several years.  Our customers often tell us they want to garden but don't have enough space or are unable to prepare a garden bed. In 2010, we made our dream a reality.

The Community Garden is a place where anyone with an interest in growing their own food can come and plant a garden.  Everyone is welcome - including children!  If you don't know where to start, we'll help you get started.  There is no charge to use a garden plot.  We will accept donations to help with the water bill.  We'd like to thank Dennis Bailey for bringing out his tractor and tilling up the garden space.

In 2010 we had 40 plots available.  About half of them were used all summer.  The gardens were beautiful and those who raised them worked hard.  It's been wonderful to see new gardeners blossom and experienced gardeners find a place to grow their food again.  Our pigs are fat from all the extras the community gardeners feed them.  We'd like to think that the gardens have also created a community of new friends who might not have met each other except through this common love of digging in the dirt.
